Nutritious Value of Durian

Durian, also known as the “King of Fruits”, is distinguished by its strong odour, yellow flesh, and green thorn-covered husk. Many people sort for Durian for its unique taste. Beneath its hard and thorn-covered husk contains durian flesh that is rich in vitamins, carbohydrate and minerals. Durian is an excellent source of vitamin B, including niacin, riboflavin, B5, B6, and thiamin. The fruit also replenishes a good amount of minerals such as manganese, copper, iron, potassium essential amino acid tryptophan and magnesium. However, consume durian in moderation as it contains fructose, which may harm your health in excess amounts.

Know what you are eating as the saying goes, “You are what you eat.” Eat durian not simply for its creamy taste but also for its health benefits.
